Netscape 7.2 won't launch with Windows XP. WTH!

I had 7.2 running fine on a Windows 2000 setup. I changed to XP when I
swapped motherboards, and the new setup will not run Netscape 7.2. I
found 7.1 and it works fine.

How can this be??? It installs normally, & puts an icon on the desktop.
When I click on the icon it'll blink just a bit, and nothing. I've
tried every way possible to launch Netscape, and it does nothing. Any
ideas where to start?

I'm almost to the point of just formatting the whole mess and starting
from scratch.

Netscape 7.1 and 7.2 are getting very old. I think I remember this
problem, so try this.

Uninstall NS via Add/Remove programs. Go to:

C:/Program Files/Netscape

Note, if you have other NS versions, NC4 or NS8 installed, the program
files will be in this folder. If you have only NS7 installed, simply
delete the whole folder. If you have other versions, delete only that
which refers to NS7.

Go to:

C:/Program Files/Common Files/mozilla.org/GRE

Note, if you have Mozilla Suite, or SeaMonkey installed, delete only the
GRE for MS7. If you have only NS & installed, deleted the whole folder.

Reinstall NS7.2
